Can this be used for camping alone?

Yes and no, it is comfortable, but it may not remain firm enough to sleep directly on the bare ground. I personally use it as a pillow topper for my camping trailer bed.

How long should I let it expand?

I allowed mine to sit overnight, and it expanded quickly and evenly.

Does it come with a storage bag?

Yes, it comes with a lightweight storage bag with a zipper, making it easy to put away.

If I weigh around 160 lbs and lie on my side, will my shoulders or hips sink all the way down to the floor?

My son, who is about 6'2" and 200 lbs, uses this regularly and has mentioned that he does not sink far into it. Even when standing on it, my feet only go in about an inch.
